EMERITI

“Emeritus” from Latin, meaning having served one’s term honorably and now retired from assigned duties.

The Palo Alto University Rotary Club is fortunate to benefit from the intellectual capital of distinguished former members who maintain involvement with the Club as Emeriti.

As a first project, the emeriti are organizing and hosting a series of lectures on civil discourse. The inaugural lecture was entitled “The Time for Civil Discourse is NOW,” and featured a keynote address by the general secretary of Rotary International: John Hewko. Almost 250 people from the community and District 5170 attended the event at the Stanford Faculty Club.
