ABOUT US
The Community Service Committee works with the Social Committee and Youth Service Committee to offer PAUR members the opportunity to put into action the Rotary motto “Service Above Self.” The committee gathers ideas from Club members and schedules service events. These events give members the opportunity to provide service to the community in a variety of rewarding ways.
WHAT WE DO
We partner with local non-profits to support their on-going efforts in the community. At the Palo Alto Recreation Foundation – 2019 Palo Alto Black and White Ball, 12 members volunteered to assist in hands on assistance.
We partner with the local non-profit Farming Hope to plant fruit trees that can be used as a source of food for our local unhomed. Farming Hope also employs the unhomed to take care of the trees, harvest the fruit and prepare the harvested food as part of pop-up restaurants. Farming Hope helps transition people out of unhomedness.
We hang the American flag on Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day and Labor Day in honor of our veterans and fallen heroes.
WHO BENEFITS
Local communities benefit from our collective efforts in the areas concerning children, seniors and our environment.
