Chair
"Promoting Fair Access to Quality HealthCare."
The PAUR RotaCare Committee champions access to free, quality medical care for individuals who need it most and have the least access. By supporting and expanding RotaCare Free Clinics, we help reduce pain and suffering in our community. Our work extends beyond immediate relief—we connect patients to vital resources that address Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), fostering healthier, more resilient communities.
The Need
Even in communities rich with resources, far too many people still face barriers to basic medical care. Low-income families, service workers, migrant workers, the unhoused, and those unfamiliar with our healthcare system often struggle to find safe, affordable, and compassionate care when they need it most.
RotaCare was created to fill these gaps — offering free, respectful, and immediate healthcare services for those who might otherwise go without. The program not only eases pain and suffering but also connects people to the additional health and social services that support long-term well-being.
What We Do
The Palo Alto University Rotary (PAUR) Club has proudly supported RotaCare since 1994. Through our partnership with RotaCare, we help support, expand, and sustain free clinics in our region — including a new pilot clinic in Sunnyvale/Mountain View — offering care to those in urgent need and connecting them with vital social services.
But our work extends beyond the clinic walls. We help build partnerships with Rotary clubs, medical schools, and community agencies, and promote tools like UniteUs.com to address food insecurity, housing, employment, and other critical determinants of health. We create opportunities for Rotarians and neighbors alike to volunteer, lead, and make a difference, while securing funding and resources to keep these life-changing services available for those who need them most — today and for years to come.
Our Programs

Support & Grow Free Clinics
We assist in implementing and expanding RotaCare Free Clinics in our region—including a new pilot clinic in Sunnyvale/Mountain View—offering care to those in urgent need and linking them to essential social services.

Promote Health Beyond the Clinic
Our initiatives go beyond treatment. We help integrate social services networks, like UniteUs.com, so clinics can better address food insecurity, housing, employment, and other key determinants of health.

Build Partnerships
We work with Rotary clubs, medical schools, local community agencies, and organizations like RotaCare Bay Area to amplify our impact. Together, we create sustainable, community-based solutions.

Engage Volunteers & Leaders
We provide meaningful opportunities for Rotarians and community members to volunteer and lead—from hands-on clinic support to strategic planning and fundraising.

Sustain & Fund Our Work
We secure funding through PAUR’s 501(c)(3) foundation, grants, and generous community donations. Our goal: ensure RotaCare programs thrive today and into the future.
Who Benefits
At the heart of RotaCare’s mission are the people in our communities who have nowhere else to turn for medical care — and who deserve to be treated with dignity and kindness.
We serve:
-
Low-income individuals and families
-
Uninsured community members
-
People unfamiliar with how to access medical services
-
Unhoused neighbors
-
Service and migrant workers who care for our communities but often lack care themselves
RotaCare ensures they have a safe, welcoming place to go for immediate care, at least once a week — offering not just treatment, but hope, respect, and connection.
